About Muckraking Mom

Updated on

Muckraking Mom is an independent buying-guide site about wet/dry shop vacs, so you can compare models and pick one that fits your mess.

We cover the vacs people use in garages, workshops, basements and cars, and we add new guides over time.

You don't need to know tool-shop jargon. We explain terms like tank size, peak horsepower and CFM in plain words.

What we cover

Our guides cover corded and cordless wet/dry vacs from brands like DeWalt, Ridgid, Craftsman, Shop-Vac and Vacmaster. We also cover hoses, blower ports, wall mounts and the basic upkeep that keeps a vac working.

We compare models side by side so you can see the trade-offs for each job.

What we do

We read the product details, specs and maker information for every vac we cover. We also look at what buyers often say after using one.

Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. You can read more on our How we research page.

What we don't do

We don't make or sell shop vacs, and no brand pays us to rank its products.

Muckraking Mom is not affiliated with DeWalt, Ridgid, Craftsman, Shop-Vac, Vacmaster or any other maker.

We don't claim to have tested every vac ourselves. When we pick one, we tell you why, based on its specs, its features and buyer feedback.

How we earn money

Some links on this site go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.

That never changes which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
